baudelagon Il y a trois choses que j'aime et qui se retrouvent chez Dirge: d'abord cet aspect minimaliste (quelques sons qui petit à petit dessinent une mélodie), ensuite un côté expérimental, enfin de longs morceaux qui vous obligent à entrer progressivement en transe, en symbiose avec l'univers sonore qui vous est proposé. Pour moi, il est inconcevable de mettre Dirge en fond sonore pendant que l'on fait autre chose. Ce serait comme cuisiner pendant la messe pour un croyant !

Greg Harris Finest exponents of atmospheric sludge on the planet. More recent albums (Hyperion, EMF) are so well crafted that on every listen i think T.R.U.E. A.R.T. Dense low end guitar walls, vocals with 'just right' harshness, synth and programming providing subtle variation; all crafted together with patience and compositional ear.

This review is long overdue. This album right here is the album that finally pulled me out of the "commercial" music world and into the world of the raw, experimental, and sincere. An amalgamation of everything I love about post-metal and hardcore taken to a mathy, heavy, ambient extreme. brineryte
